סימון קסל היא במקור שחקנית מניו זילנד, היא שיחקה בתוכניות טלוויזיה פופלריות רבות באוסטרליה כגוון " Underbelly" וגם בסרטים כמו Frost/Nixon. כיום היא משחקת את אלישיה וושינגטון (או "הסגנית" כפי שמכנה אותה המפקד טיילור) בטרה נובה. אלישיה היא חיילת קשוחה, יעילה ואפילו ישנן חשדות שהיא בעצם מרגלת של השישיים. ג'ייסון אומרה קטע את סימון לפני צילומי הסצינה ושאל אותה את השאלות שהוא שואל בדרך כלל את כולם.
